SAKKARY MACHINERY Launches Factory Decision 2030 to Support 100 Egyptian Factories

3 min read

What Is Factory Decision 2030?

SAKKARY MACHINERY has launched Factory Decision 2030, an initiative targeting support for 100 existing or under-development factories in Egypt during its first phase.

The initiative helps factory owners and industrial investors evaluate machinery and production solutions against their actual requirements. It moves the decision beyond purchase price to consider productivity, quality, reliability, operating cost and lifecycle support.

SAKKARY MACHINERY has provided industrial machinery solutions and production technology since 1958, positioning the company as a technical consultant and production partner rather than a machine-only supplier.

How Does the Preliminary Assessment Work?

  1. The initiative starts by understanding what the factory intends to produce. The preliminary technical and economic review may consider:
  2. Finished product and production process.
  3. Material type, dimensions and required accuracy.
  4. Current and target production capacity.
  5. Expected operating hours and production pattern.
  6. Available electrical supply, air, extraction, cooling and site utilities.
  7. Installation, commissioning and operator-training requirements.
  8. Tooling, consumables, maintenance and spare-parts needs.
  9. Total cost of ownership, or TCO.
  10. Indicative return-on-investment inputs based on the factory’s data.
  11. Factories can review SAKKARY MACHINERY’s industrial machinery solutions, operator-training services and maintenance and technical support before submitting their requirements.

Why Purchase Price Is Only One Part of the Decision

The challenge is not simply to purchase a new machine. It is to select a production solution capable of delivering the required output, accuracy, quality and operating economics over its working life.

An unsuitable machine or configuration may increase the true investment cost through production downtime, scrap, low utilization, difficult operator training, maintenance requirements or unavailable spare parts.

A longer and more reliable operating life also depends on application fit, correct installation and commissioning, operator competence, preventive maintenance and appropriate technical support.

Supporting Egypt’s Industrial Development

  1. Factory Decision 2030 is being introduced as Egypt continues to expand manufacturing investment and local production.
  2. According to Egypt’s Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, manufacturing contributes at least 16% of GDP, employs approximately 14% of the workforce and represents more than 85% of non-oil merchandise exports.
  3. The FY 2025/2026 plan targets EGP 252.8 billion in manufacturing investment, with private investment representing approximately 83% of the targeted total.
  4. Egypt’s National Industrial Strategy 2026–2030 also targets increasing non-oil exports to USD 100 billion by 2030, alongside supplier development, SME support, technology transfer and deeper local manufacturing.
  5. Industries Covered by the Initiative
  6. The initiative may support factories and projects working in:
  7. Engineering industries and metalworking.
  8. Automotive components and spare parts.
  9. Sheet-metal cutting, bending and forming.
  10. Furniture and woodworking.
  11. Aluminum and PVC fabrication.
  12. Dies, molds, EDM and wire EDM.
  13. Maintenance and spare-parts manufacturing.
  14. Production workshops and technical-training facilities.
  15. The final machinery or production recommendation depends on verified application data and a technical review of each project.

Preliminary Review, Not a Guaranteed Return

Any TCO or ROI indicators provided through the initiative are preliminary estimates based on information supplied by the factory or investor.

They do not guarantee a fixed financial return and are not a substitute for a complete financial feasibility study. Actual results depend on demand, material and energy prices, utilization, operating efficiency, maintenance, management capability, finance and collection conditions.
