Turning Tools & Tool Holders
CNC Lathe Tooling & Tool Holders
Turning, boring, grooving, parting, threading, drilling and live-tooling solutions for CNC lathes - selected according to the machine interface, turret, operation and required tooling setup.
SAKKARY MACHINERY provides CNC lathe tooling and tool-holder solutions for external and internal turning operations, grooving, parting, threading, drilling, profiling and machine-specific tooling configurations. The range covers standard turning holders and boring bars as well as modular, quick-change, Swiss-type, static and driven/live tool holders. VDI and BMT tool-holder options can be selected where they match the machine turret and interface. Tooling selection should be based on the CNC lathe model, turret/interface, tool position, insert or cutting-tool system, workpiece material, operation and required cutting conditions. Compatibility must be confirmed for the exact machine and tooling configuration before supply

How to request the correct tooling
- Send the CNC lathe brand and model.
- Specify the turret type and tooling interface, such as VDI or BMT where applicable.
- Provide the required operation: turning, boring, grooving, parting, threading, drilling, profiling or live tooling.
- Send the existing holder code, insert designation or tool-system reference if available.
- Provide workpiece material and typical diameter / machining range.
- For live tooling, provide the driven-tool interface, orientation (axial or radial), speed/torque requirements if known, and machine documentation or clear photos.
- Send required quantity and clear photos or drawings where possible.
Questions we are asked
What information is needed to select a CNC lathe tool holder?
The machine model, turret/interface, operation, existing holder or insert code, workpiece material and required tooling configuration help determine the suitable option.
What is the difference between static and live tool holders?
Static holders position a non-driven cutting tool, while driven/live holders transmit rotary motion from a compatible powered turret for operations such as drilling or milling. Compatibility depends on the machine turret and interface.
Can VDI and BMT holders be used on any CNC lathe?
No. VDI and BMT are machine/turret interface systems. The exact size, interface and machine compatibility must be confirmed before selection.
What are axial and radial live tool holders?
They describe the orientation of the driven tool relative to the machine setup. The correct configuration depends on the machining operation and the lathe turret design.
Can SAKKARY MACHINERY identify a replacement holder from a photo or code?
A clear photo, holder code, insert designation and machine/turret details can help identify a compatible option. Final compatibility must be confirmed before supply.
