Fiber Laser Cutting Technology
Laser Cutting Heads for Fiber Laser Machines
Laser cutting heads for flat-sheet, tube and multi-axis cutting applications, with configurations designed around laser power, cutting geometry, connector type and process requirements.
The laser cutting head is a critical part of a fiber laser cutting system, directing and focusing the laser beam onto the workpiece while supporting the cutting process through optics, focusing control, assist-gas delivery and protective components. Different cutting-head configurations are available for flat-sheet cutting, tube cutting, bevel cutting and multi-axis applications. Selection should be based on the laser source, power level, connector, material, thickness, cutting geometry and machine configuration. Advanced cutting heads can incorporate sealed optical structures, autofocus systems, centering adjustment and real-time monitoring functions. Available functions vary by series and model and should be confirmed against the exact technical datasheet. BOCHU BLT cutting-head families include solutions for 2D flat cutting, 3D or bevel cutting, tube cutting and related laser-processing applications, with genuine consumables and accessories available for compatible BLT heads.
How a Laser Cutting Head Works
The cutting head guides and focuses the laser beam onto the material. During cutting, the concentrated laser energy heats the material along the programmed path, while the cutting process is supported by the selected assist gas and machine parameters. Cutting performance depends on the complete system, including laser source, cutting head, optics, focus position, gas, material, thickness and programmed settings.

Laser Cutting Head Types
2D Laser Cutting Heads — Flat Sheet
Designed for flat-sheet laser cutting. BOCHU offers multiple BLT series covering different power classes. Depending on the exact series, functions can include beam-spot control, closed-loop focus control, automatic centering, intelligent piercing, gas-pressure monitoring, temperature monitoring and protective functions.
3D / Bevel Laser Cutting Heads
Designed for applications requiring angled or multi-axis cutting, including plane bevel cutting. Selected systems can work with rotary axes to support bevel geometries. Exact bevel angle, power range and monitoring functions are model-specific.
Tube Cutting Heads
Designed for laser tube-cutting systems. Selected tube-cutting heads can be combined with rotary-axis configurations for straight or bevel cutting of different tube profiles. Power capacity and supported geometry depend on the exact model and machine.

Precision & Cutting Performance
Laser cutting systems are used for precise, programmable cutting. Final cutting quality and speed are not determined by the cutting head alone; they depend on the laser source, material, thickness, optics, focus, assist gas, motion system and cutting parameters.
Questions we are asked
What is a laser cutting head?
A laser cutting head is the optical and process interface that directs and focuses laser energy onto the workpiece and supports the cutting process through the nozzle, assist gas, protective optics and related sensing or control functions.
What types of laser cutting heads are available?
Common configurations include heads for flat-sheet cutting, tube cutting, bevel or 3D cutting and multi-axis applications. The correct type depends on the machine and production process.
How do I choose the correct laser cutting head?
Confirm the laser source, power, connector, cutting application, material, thickness, machine control system and required functions before selecting a head.
What is an autofocus laser cutting head?
An autofocus cutting head uses a motorized focusing mechanism to adjust the focal position. Travel range, speed and control method vary by model.
Why is the protective lens important?
The protective lens or window helps isolate sensitive optical components from contamination generated during the cutting process. It is a consumable component and should be selected for the exact cutting-head model.
Are BOCHU cutting heads suitable for sheet and tube cutting?
BOCHU offers separate cutting-head families for flat-sheet, tube and multi-axis or bevel applications. Compatibility and capacity must be confirmed for the exact BLT model.
What information is needed to select a replacement cutting head?
Provide the existing cutting-head model, laser source and power, connector type, machine model, control system, cutting application and clear photos of the current head and interfaces.
